Re: software that will convert most sloppy typing

No quotation marks and no possesives. As Im a forgeinger this is not too difficult for me. I would go for Graham Malvedos. I am writing software that will convert most sloppy Blackberry-grade typing into the correct neatly-displayed pedantic name. That software is written. Awaiting test data from K...

29th March: bottle and people count

JES is out. His SW77 is out. Status quo is reasonable well balanced.

If extra person(s) were in, then they would need to bring something. In that case perhaps Jay could have done so for them.

But they’ve refused, so it doesn’t matter.

Re: Name questions

AHB’s comments have crystalised one of my concerns. If a wine is bottled as a Single Quinta, who cares who owns it? Why not just call it Quinta do Tiddlyposh, and that’s that. If, by happy life-simplfying chance, it has been bound to a particular blender for at least a century, then perhaps we coul...

Jay: I can’t get any more 1977s delivered without an intervening weekend. If replacement people need a ’77, would you be willing to supply and have them pay you $?

Name questions: third email to Poças

Thank you again. One final question: please do you have a complete list of years in which Porto Poças was declared? Which suggests writing to other port makers, asking them the same question. As with Poças, post their replies in the forum—after redacting any confidential pieces—to be a public...

Name questions: second letter from Poças

Sometimes writers confuse the name of the brand with the name of the Company. When they refer Poças Junior they really want to say Porto Poças This is our experience talking... Our First Vintage was made in 1960... and it is sold out since many years ago... Maria Altina Sarmento Secretary Manoe...

Re: But you have reversed the usual horizontal and vertical

Could the click cause a list of available TN's to drop down from the box allowing the user to select one to view? Great idea. Will investigate. [Edit: not obvious how from the pdfmark Reference , so I have asked for help .] What goes in the star should be useful. I'm not sure the number of pipes sh...

Name questions: second letter to Poças

Thank you for your email which is very helpful about recent vintages. Thank you. But we are also interested in older vintage ports: e.g., 1985, 1977, 1975, 1970, 1966, 1963, 1955, 1945, 1935, 1927, and older. We have seen examples of writers referring to wines from the same vintage being described ...

Re: But you have reversed the usual horizontal and vertical

I think it looks great is destined to become one of the historic charts in the folklore of port, ranking alongside Baron Forrester's maps. Ahh, but can you click on one of the dots on the Barrn's map and be taken directly to a Tasting Note? Yes indeed: high praise from “jAHB†. The bounding rectang...

But you have reversed the usual horizontal and vertical

Very good.

But you have reversed the usual horizontal and vertical directions.

As for PDF generation: don’t worry about sizes. I’m going to make it from the data. (You’ve seen my tasting sheets: trust me, I can cope.)

Quinta do Mourão

[Rant] Annoying wine to boycott: http://www.quintadomourao.pt (deliberately not shown as a link), has been written by a web-designer keen on browser-crashing cool scripts, but with little interest in content. Re: Name questions

• “Quinta das Licieras†? Not well known to google. I have 24 x 375ml and 1 x 750ml bottles to prove existence. It belongs to the owners of Quinta da Romaniera.
