Re: Wednesday 28th April 2021 - Online Churchill tasting with the Port Forum

To help the Churchill team prepare for their call with us, please post here what you intend to open for the tasting. I still have the remains of the bottles that were sent out as samples - 1991 Vintage, Agua Alta 1995, Gricha 2005, Gricha 2009 - so I'll go with those. Will be interesting to see how...

There is the Quinta de la Rosa LBV and Vintage tasting on 8th July, so maybe later in the year?
Had completely missed this, but have now updated the planner.

Re: Taylor's Terra Feita Vertical, Provisional Date 10 June 2021, B&F

We may need to move this one, as we are still currently limited to tables of 6 for this date. We might be able to have more than one table - perhaps 6, 6, 2 - with no physical intercommunication between them - but that depends on the situation nearer the time. Will update in a month. My view is tha...

Port Club Tasting - 15th April

Some of you may have already received an email about this from Churchill's? I mentioned to them that this clashes with the VWP Graham's tasting and Jamie Churchill responded: Thank you for bringing this to my attention. We are going to stick to this date for the general Port Club tasting but I would...

Re: 2021 Virtual Tasting #8 - Thurs 15 April - Graham’s

Graham's thing starts at 1900 No. Just no. Dow declared 1899; Graham declared 1901; approximately everybody else declared 1900. So we can’t start a Graham tasting at 1900. Did you mean Warre? And if you are arranging a Warre vertical starting at 1900, yes please, definitely include me. Most amusing.

Graham's thing starts at 1900 (I think), so guess we'll be starting sometime between 2000 and 2030.

1995 Warre Otima (bottled 2018)

Opened for virtual colheita tasting on 31/3/21. The first of three 50cl bottles purchased from Selfridges in Sept 2020. Straight from cellar, so nicely chilled. T-stopper. Popped and poured. Bright & clear light amber. Oloroso/rancio nose, complex but with a discernible triple sec note. Very little ...

There's a 12bt case of the quite rare Noval 94 in the current BidForWine auction. Looks to be in excellent condition. Any interest in a group purchase? For those that expressed an interest in this, with a day and a bit to go it’s already at £1000. As such, I’m withdrawing my interest. Feel free to ...

Re: 2021 (and beyond) Physical Tastings - Planner

2022 is a significant anniversary for 1972 and 1982 - both of which (I suspect) are likely to prove difficult to obtain many bottles for. Might it make sense to think about combining the two and having a joint tasting? Is there a 72 or 82 baby (or both) who would like to take on organising this one?...

Noticed that we still haven't done the planned Colheita tasting, so have assumed that for 31/3. Any objections?
