Re: One quiz at a time

I know we essentially let this thread die, but a quiz question occurred to me today which I couldn't resist asking, especially for the mathematicians amongst us.

A simple question. What is the next number in this series, and why?
88, 92, 95, 97, 99, 102, 107...

Any reason to print the 8 per A4?
Perhaps mistakenly I had envisaged the labelling of wrapped bottles — the organiser to pronounce.
I will label each bottle.

Do we have a start time for Tuesday? Is it the usual 6.30pm? Start time is 6.30pm Three additional guidelines: - spitting to be encouraged. This is a tasting, not one of our normal drinking evenings. - small sample pours. This is a tasting, not one of our normal drinking evenings. - no wine of the ...

DG is Dia on this occasion, not David. Otherwise all looks to be correct.

Is anyone able to print? I won’t be going near a printer before Tuesday.

And your interpretation of the plan looks wonderful, but won’t work since Tony has at least half of the bottles.

Thirty-nine in one go?! Please sir, consider the obvious suggestion? I have much PostScript to do this evening. Will also do this. Following some offline lobbying by JDAW I have come up with a plan which I’d like some comment on: 1) We are being given these bottles in order to create discussion and...

I regret having had to miss this and appreciate the posts on the threas, which have allowed me to get an update on the range of views on the vintage. This is a vintage I love and, in general, it seems that's a shared view. I have a couple of cases of the Martinez. I think I'll pull one out next year...

Often the case. Some producers use t-stoppers as the samples really should be opened and consumed within a few weeks of bring filled.

The comparison with Bordeaux is one which strikes a chord with me. You have some big, reliable and very expensive names which make fabulous wine which are sold at eye-watering prices. I used to be able to afford to occasionally buy first growth Bordeaux but those days are a distant memory. But I do ...

NV Quinta das Lamelas 30YO White (bottled 2017)

In my new found enthusiasm for White Port I have been raiding local (and not so local) retailers and emptying out cupboards where I’ve been hiding things which were not red and bottle matured. This is one such (50cl) bottle. A deep chestnut brown, 50% opaque. Rich beef extract and black treacle on t...

Available from the Oxford & Cambridge Club @ £9 per glass. A lovely mature red, looking very attractive, 90% opaque. Sweet exotic spices and spearmint on the nose. Intense raisin and dates on the palate, rich and beautifully mature with a great depth of flavour. The mint shows strongly on the aftert...
