Glenn,
I have used the service of a brilliant tour guide who knows London like the back of his hand. His charges are neglible (in fact he's anyones for a glass of decent Port or even a coffee and a pasteis de Nata); step forward Alex!

Re: Single Quinta
Axel,
A great article on a subject that I have only recently become interested in. While I have given up buying young VP’s I’m still picking up the single Quintas to keep me company as I get older (and wiser, hopefully).

Re: Festive Drinking 2023
We have now settled into a pattern at Christmas with our house wines and Port. Starting off with 2018 Rathfinny (Sussex sparkling) and finishing with the always beautiful (the Catherine Deneuve of the Port world) and still deceptively youthful Taylor’s 1970 (Irish private bottling). What to have wit...

And I still have the two you gave me, haven’t touched them yet as I’m struggling to clear a path to them. Resolution for 2024 to buy less Port and start drinking the good ones.

1 x Calem 40 year old tawny at auction (will make a nice gift to give someone).
11 x Bomfim 2013 at Asda for £22 each (will make a nice mention in my will as I don’t think I’ll live long enough to drink it).

I’d buy three Port-Club memberships for that money as I’ve really enjoyed the variety, quality and value so far. Jamie send me on my “paid partnership Port” please.

4/10, a few guesses were close. 10 years out on the Thomas Jefferson and 2 years out on the Sassicia, hadn't a clue on the rest. Won't be asked to any of Neil's pub quizzes. Btw a little etymological question for you all; the word quiz comes from what country?

Global warming, but I don't think I'll live long enough to drink English fortified wine (not to be called Port!).

Don’t feel too sorry for Joe, guys. Woodchuck was bought by an Irish company in 2012 for $305 million in 2012 and sold two years ago for $20 million! I remember thhem buying it at the top of the market and soon afterwards all the big companies in the USA launched me to products. I think Joe can take...

Thanks Tom and Alex. On looking back at the 30 year tasting back in December 2013 it’s like déja vu! No outstanding Ports so maybe we just have to write off that year. One or two might be going through a dumb phase but on balance I think many are past it. A few ranked as good but no very good rankin...
