I just picked up three bottles of the Eira Velha 2000 for £7.99 each. They had stained labels and were on the reduced shelf.
Muito obrigado.

Apostoles
Is it ok to mention a sherry in this section?
Recently spotted in my local Sainsburys-
Apostoles Palo Cortado 30yo, 37.5cl Muy Viejo reduced to £6.30
I took a gamble and grabbed the last three bottles, very glad I did. Just 'off-dry' with a bright, complex, nutty piquancy. Delicious.

Re: Dow's Trademark Reserve, again.
[removes tounge from cheek] More seriously, Jamie Goode gives it the thumbs-up over on his site- Dow’s Trademark Finest Reserve Port NV Portugal Nice stuff, and a brilliant bargain at Sainsbury’s offer price. Good density of curranty red fruits on the nose. The palate is sweet with good fruit and ni...

Dow's Trademark Reserve, again.
On offer at Sainsburys, £5.99 I didn’t bother with this last year, I think it was because it failed to excite anyone on this forum. Having another look today I noticed it had picked up a Decanter Gold in their World Wine Awards. Surely Decanter's extensive panel of wine experts can’t all be wrong? A...

Fletcher's @ Aldi?
This Christmas Aldi is offering Fletcher's 10yo Tawny Port for £7.99 (75cl).
Anyone familiar with Fletcher's?
Aldi do bring out some decent wines over the Christmas period (and throughout the year), worth checking out if you generally avoid the place.

I would suggest the following master plan: Firstly: try to persuade the Portugese embassy to built an outpost at your field, then it is officially Portugal. Secondly: Write a letter to the Marques de Pombal asking him kindly to think over his demarkation plan again with the suggestion that a little...

Homemade Port - Should I declare?
I have recently bottled my first homemade port, Elderberry (with a little blackberry for backbone). All from a single estate (field) close to where I live. The fruit was picked in September '05, the resulting table wine was bottled in May '06. I opened five bottles in Oct'07, returned the wine to a ...

1969 Recommendation.
Hi all I am fast approaching the big 40, next year, vintage '69. From what I have read '69 is not a declared year but some decent wines were produced. I would like to get hold of a bottle of port to put away for the event, can any of you recommend a '69 that is drinking well? Once I have one or two ...

Corked :x And I have lost the receipt  I decantered it last night, had a sniff this morning, the 'dry box' smell had died down quite considerably but it still showed. I can taste bright fruit struggling to navigate a fog of dusty oak, a real fight going on, Harry Hill would be proud. Down the ...

Dows LBV '01, 50cl -Bargain?
Just spotted in my local Somerfield, Dows LBV 2001 in 50cl bottles, reduced to £4.99 I find the 50cl bottles a 'very comfortable' size for weekend drinking, I drink other wines too and like to finish the evening on a glass or two of port. I have not tried the '01 as yet but do recall enjoying the '9...

'92 LBV past it?
I was planning on opening one of my Warre's LBV's this weekend, I have one '92 left plus a bunch of '95's. I was thinking, maybe I should leave the '92 for a few more years and see what happens, it could be the last time I see a '92 as, from what I have seen, the stores that stock it are all on the ...
