Re: The Book, ‘Port Vintages’, is for sale

Not received my 2 copies (2 separate orders) yet. Hopefully they will arrive next week. This evening I will get your data (from a file to quick I don't have access at work) and have fulfillment company report. Both books were delivered in good order yesterday afternoon (Dec. 11, Sprundel, Netherlan...

If at all possible, I would like to be added to the Reserves list. As I'll be just 77 at this time I expect to be able to attend. 2011 VP's that I could bring along are: Not yet on the list: - Kopke - Krohn - Krohn Quinta do Retiro Novo - Pocas Junior Already on the list: - Cockburn's - Fonseca - Qu...

Re: Warre's 1977VP during dinner @Buckingham Palace

That’s a lot of bottles of Latour and Warre’s for that many people. For 170 people who won't be drinking much that's about 3 to 4 cases of Latour 90 and 1 case of Warre 77. The Latour is £9-10k per case on WS so I think I'd rather be paying for the Port  Yes, quite :D . I presume that the Lat...

Warre's 1977VP during dinner @Buckingham Palace

Our royal Family is on state visit in the UK. :D One member of the Dutch press was invited to attend the dinner (in total there were about 170 people), the menu served (including the wines), and he shared the menu. Excellent wines (1990 Latour  ) were served, and Warre's 1977 VP with desert. ...

Re: 2020 - A 1970 horizontal

I know of one other label which produced a 1970 (of which I have a couple of bottles):
Amandio (Real Companhia Vinicola do Norte de Portugal)

I also have some Kopke Q. Sao Luiz, Cálem and Messias Cachao form 1970 (If possible, I would like to sign up for this tasting :-) )

Fonseca 1997 VP (Magnum). Just bought this at auction over here. I realised (about 20 seconds after the fact), that I overbid myself online by putting in a higher bid on the standing bid (which was my own written bid, that I put in earlier) . But at least I prevented another online bidder to s...

Re: Christmas wine and port

on Christmas eve, I opened up a 1963 Avery's VP, it seemed a tiny bit corked. Yesterday, after Christmas dinner, we had a 1995 Kopke VP, and later on the evening I returned to the 1963, which seemed to have improved a bit (still not a great showing but quite enjoyable).

Possible fake 1927 VP in Belgium auction this weekend

Hi all, I don't know if anyone is taking part in the wine/port auction which is being held in Belgium this weekend, but if so, please take note of the following. There is 1 lot of 2 1927 VP bottles (Royal Oporto). Because I had some questions about this lot, I asked around a bit (It wasn't quite cle...

Re: 1955 Croft

Mature, brick red colour wih a pale rim, 30% opaque. Gentle sous bois nose, with soft wild strawberry. Lovely entry, slightly woody but with sweet fruits of the forest adding a pleasant complexity. Balanced and well structured but starting to dry out. A nice profile on the aftertaste with nutty dri...

Croft 1977 VP

I got the chance to buy a case of Croft 1977 VP quite recently (I need to collect them yet), at what seemed to me a very decent price. With this purchase, I have exceeded the number of 1977 VP's that I ideally want to have. So if anyone is interested, I would like to part with 5 bottles of Croft 197...

Of course  , first I ordered just the one, to see how it is, but now there's no reason what so ever not to order many more. That shall be some dinnerparty :nirvana:  :660000:
