What are we all planning to have for this?

Just pulled a bottle of Roeda 2002 from the cellar. Will decant tomorrow morning.
Decanted at 1500 - so should get 4 hours air before properly tasting. Quick sample was quite tasty.

Cork good, but loads of heavy sediment.

Re: VE-Day Tasting?

I've provisionally got one of the private dining rooms at 67 Pall Mall booked for Monday 14th September. Could all who previously expressed an interest please confirm availability and if not already done so what their offering is. I suspect we'll need to limit this to 8 people, but if it looks like ...

Re: Sherry Tasting with Sarah Jane Evans MW

Have done a number of Sherry tastings over the years, and this was one of the best.

If you haven’t already partaken then VWP still have the tasting packs available. Exceptionally good value.

3 bottles of G77. Worked out £90 all in per bottle, which I think isn’t bad.

Just acquired a 12bt case of 1994 Quinta de la Rosa. Not yet delivered, but potentially open to getting rid of a few bottles. If you're interested PM or email me. I had a bottle of the la Rosa '94 in November last year. It was drinking very nicely. Apart from the bottles at the RV tasting, don’t th...

Rare Burgundy...

Following some discussion (not entirely positive) about DRC, thought I’d share this... I’m quite lucky to receive an annual allocation of DRC from Corney & Barrow, most of which I sell on well before I might get a chance to drink it. As such, I’m about to sell 2 bottles (Duty & VAT paid) each, indiv...

Cork extremely tight and snapped whilst trying to remove it. Mangled remains were clearly branded. 2.5 hour decant. TASTING NOTE TO FOLLOW THIS E...

@flash_uk - something from the eighties it is. Churchill 1982, your time has come.
Recently acquired a case of Noval 1985. Think the time has come for the first bottle to be sacrificed on the altar of the vinous gods.
N85 decanted 1630. Quick QA taste. All is well.

Samples should be arriving from today. When they arrive, please pop them in the fridge until Tuesday and remove shortly before we get together. They should be tasted at about 14-16C.

Sainsbury’s pre-summer clearance
Tempting, and seem to all be available online.

Also worth considering as a cellar defender is Graham’s LBV for £9 at Morrisons. Text suggests it’s 2012, but suspect it needs updating.
