Me too. I can set up a Zoom videoconf call. Can handle lots of people.
Mike - please do. It would be a bit of fun to try something out and see if we can make it work - even if we only have 40 minutes of banal chat whilst drinking our own bottle of Port.

at a rate of one bottle per week I'm OK for about 11 years
At one bottle of port a week (of all types), I'm good for nearly 159 years..
Since when did you drink only one bottle a week?

Stay safe; I presume you're yet to return.

I'd just add to anyone thinking about the Croft 2000 that I had chance to taste it a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed. It's turned into quite a lovely Port with lots of potential.

2000 Graham

Dark red colour with no purple and just starting to develop some brick tone. Subdued nose, a little fruit and flower perfume emerging after a swirl. A lovely texture on the palate, nicely balanced with the floral fruit dominating with its primary profile. Rich palate with elegance, big sweet fruit, ...

2000 Dow

Brick red with a narrow rim. Lots of fruit on the nose, sweet and jammy - like the blackberry juice from a crumble which caramelises on the edge of the pie dish. Soft initial impact with big tannins and stewed fruit; the tannins getting bigger on the mid-palate. Surprisingly restrained although more...

Re: 2000 Fonseca

A lovely red colour, approaching maturity. Opaque, with a narrow rim. Fresh herbaceous bramble fruit on the nose, a nose which is quite lovely. Assertive on the palate with heightened acidity wrapped in slightly jammy bramble fruit. Rich and flavoursome with generous fruit and gentle chalky tannins....

A clear and glistening dark rose red with a narrow rim. A lovely nose, elegant and full of fragrance, delicate and lovely and full of fruit. Balanced, smooth-textured entry; lots of fruit but with generous tannins with a very slight green tone. Nice levels of acidity giving a wonderful freshness to ...

By the glass from the Boot & Flogger, decanted 14-Mar-2020 and drunk on 17-Mar-2020; stored under Vacuvin. Ruby red in colour, intensely pigmented; opaque with a wide rim. A touch of bottle stink on the nose, a nose which smells a little dirty and unclean over the bruised fruit. Smooth texture, bake...

Could we have suggestions from non-attendees of topics that we can discuss tonight which aren't COVID-19 related? Update on Alex's plans to buy a quinta (with at least 10 bedrooms)? Sadly those plans have had to be postponed due to lack of available funding - collapsing world markets have not helpe...

Cork removed at 11.00 on 16-Mar-2020 and decanted at 07.00 on 17-Mar-2020 from a small amount of very fine sediment. Very dark red in colour, no purple tone but no bricking yet; opaque with a small rim. Raspberry and cassis on the nose, wonderfully fruity but with an impressive regalness to the stru...

A sample taken from the bottle at the Boot & Flogger which was first Coravin'ed in February 2019. Modest red in colour, brick in tone and around 70% opaque. Very little on the nose when first extracted out of the bottle but after 15 minutes in the glass this started to open up to reveal baked fruits...

I have my laptop with me this evening. If anyone wants to join by video Skype we can sit you at the end of the table. Just let me know.

Re: Wed 25th March 2020

Apologies all, but I have cancelled this tasting. Given the reduction in numbers for tonight's tasting from 14 to 4 with only a few hours notice it is clear there will not be adequate interest for this tasting to happen physically. I strongly suspect the 1992 and 1960 horizontals and the Warre and K...
