reddish and slightly cloudy, smell out of the bottle had some funk (cork?) but it blew off and turned into one of the best wines of teh flight. initially I had it as a "soapy" nose with a slight woody undertone. a nutty musty nose with a bitter tobacco finish that ends in a tart twist. Aft...

If you guys want a steakhouse, I know one of the general manager, bartender and waiter at the Palm on 50th and 8th.

But it's just a suggestion, it does get quite pricey food wise but they'll wave the corkage fee for me.

Re: It’s not yet DEFCON 1, perhaps nearer DEFCON 3.

It’s not yet DEFCON 1, perhaps nearer DEFCON 3. Time? First day, Wed 26th, is undecanted, so we’ll start that process at 6½pm. Second day, Thu 27th, is decanted, so 7pm? But will we have enough bottles for two days? We have: Warre 1985 (JDAW); Ramos Pinto 1985 (JDAW); Graham 1985 (RSH adopting); Do...

Re: Conky’s missing apostrophe

Its great to see you Posting. Let’s not get into Capitalisation Crimes — life is just too short. the issue lies with the fact that there are two shift keys. at times my brain just can't decide which pinky finger should hit which shift key and it goes unstruck. The times I do capitalize is when bot...

1974 Quinta do Noval Colheita

First time trying a colheita and I must say I was impressed. This was at the restaurant and I got it by the glass, the bottle was already half gone and asking the waiter that it was open two days previously. Hot on the nose but a very sweet delicate slight burnt sugar/caramel. Tastes of orange zest,...

I can attest that after getting drunk on 2 bottles of red, 2 bottles of champagne, 3 pints and a bottle of grahams 83 ..

that the hang over seems to correlate with how much i drink as oppose to what I drink =)

I had this 3 Xmas nights ago (not counting the one coming up) at a steakhouse with a few friends.

Was the old wine society labels.

Burnt sugar, very delicate wine that was drinking well then too.

Good to see it holding up still.
