Let's see how fast Ben can turn this into a cricket conversation. :P Not meaning to disappoint, did you see Kevin Piterson's comments yesterday? He hopes Twenty20 can become a major sport in the US - I guess that means alongside golf! Kevin Pieterson Then there is also: Tiger Woods juggling with cr...

Re: My placemats have become traditional for TPF tastings

My placemats have become traditional for :tpf: tastings. Should I make a series of them for the anniversary tasting? Tell me what you’ll be drinking; how you would like to be named; where you will be geographically; flowers or stars or both or hatching or clipped text; and then I’ll cope. As you of...

I was just checking as some of this rounders incidents happened in other years and possibly on other continents. I assume 'rounders' is a derogatory reference to cricket. In which case, the Month incident was but a few weeks ago in England - "Europe in 2008". The Darrell Hair / Pakistan i...

Sorry - I was studying and managed to resist temptation at that point. Strange how that moment does not feature in the highlights!

In other circumstances I would happily have debated the point!

OK, always willing to oblige. :D If the Ref had of blown for Offside, no-one on either side would have argued, a sense of fair play would have abounded. Some pedant would have pointed out error! As it is, we have all learned about a poor obscure rule that was not brought in for that purpose. And su...

Laughable. That pillock should be helping to run Cricket, not football. There's nothing so risible as the man who waves the obscure rule in the air, when everyone else is getting on with the game. I absolutely agree - in a positive way. Cricket is all about the laws. I personally think Darrel Hair ...

Another recent purchase to test as a regular drinking option. Opened a day or two after enjoying the 1987 Delaforce Quinta Da Corte. How different are these two wines?! This was a much darker ruby red colour with much more immediate fruit to the tase. Not as smooth as the QDC either. The alcohol was...

Bring something under GBP15 could mean two things. Lets have a cheap port for a change or suprise me with something I would not normally try. It could even mean both of these. Of the ports that I listed above in the £15 or under category, I only regularly drink one of these and have only tasted 4 o...
