Re: The Port Forum Port Bucket List

My wishlist is to try a Noval Nacional that will fascinate my taste buds.

Barring that,

I'd love to do a horizontal of the 55's as the only 55's I've had are the cockburn and the dow's which was graciously opened by Uncle Tom

Re: 2015 declarations

So with the Symingtons, TFP and Sogrape all declaring their SQs for 2015, it now looks certain that we are not looking at a split declaration, but a general declaration for 2016. - I wonder whether the Symingtons will also declare a 2016 Cockburn? was just at a 2015's release tasting with Rupert an...

Congratz to Sushi North on a new vintage!

2016 marked Sushinorth welcoming another boy into the mix.

The occasion shall be marked by this croft 66' I have standing in the cellar to be opened when I see him shortly!

1934 Burmester Novidade Extra Selected

I'm not 100% sure if this was a colheita or a VP, but i'm leaning more to colheita. An amber hue but with a surprising reddish tinge in the core. Decanted for an hour before consuming. Lovely delicate nose of xmas spices, freshly ground cardamon and a touch of ginger that feels like it scintillates ...

Ah yes, found memories of when i was happily unemployed.

I believe we followed this tasting up a few days shortly with an 80 v 85 midday tasting after a few bottles of champagne for lunch.

I'd hate, .... hate is a strong word ... , be remiss to drink an entire bottle myself. Invite a friend to dinner? Share it with the missus? I'm still sitting on a leaky 1970 cockburn. I'd hate, .... hate is a strong word ... , be remiss to drink an entire bottle myself. seems like a proper tasting doesn t work as well in NY. how about people let me know a free date and i'll bring this leaky bottle of 1970 cockburn (potentially with frie...

Popped and poured given only 30 minutes to breath in the glass before tasting. A youthful, primal nose still, with strong notes of blackberry jam and lavender. Just a ton of blackberries hiding the super silky tannins. A medium closer to full bodied port that shows some finesse as the fruit is incre...

Anyway, I like being able to visit it, and look at it which you can't do if it is at a merchant. Ooh, yes, that is good! After writing my last post, I went down to make sure they were all well. None of them had any complaints, but the hygrometer told me that the recent rain had put the relati...

Popped and poured Brick ruby red, clear throughout. Nose of dusty cinnamon with a hint of raw green strawberries. Thin on the mouthfeel, simple and sweet. Was decided that it'd be best to let this air out. 4 hours later in open decanter. The nose opened up to some grassy plains with hints of earth a...

Nice ruby core with bricking around the edges. 50?% opaque. A beautiful nose of toasted nuts mixed with stewed blackberries and a hint of balsamic. June 25 2016 NYC 50s 70s tasting

Sorting out the cellar when I whiffed a familar brown sugar smell lurking. A little further sniffing found that i have a leaky Cockburn 1950 and a leaky cockburn 1970. Sounds like it'd make for a decent tasting. Who's interested? I'll host my house one of the Saturdays in June. Aiming for afternoon ...
