I would like to express an interest, subject to dates etc. the two-stage tasting sounds particularly enticing as I'd like to try a range of tawnies before my trip to Porto in May 2016.
I have a half bottle of Dalva 40 year old, Dalva 1985 colheita and a couple of 20 year old tawnies lurking around.

http://farrvintners.com/offers/large_format_row.php As I sat here drooling over a 4.5L bottle of Graham's 40-yr old Tawny Port, I thought "wow, that's actually a good price!" Then I realized it is in GBP, not USD. Sad face. Presumably this desert island has no import duty or VAT, so you c...

Re: Desert Island Ports
As I do not own any bottles in the 30L format (yet?), I would settle for the readily available, but small, bottles on offer at Farr Vintners in their brown and sticky collection.

Just in case the pricing is keen and the storage conditions don't appear too risky, Amazon UK have GM2001 in tomorrow's deals of the day.

Re: Port sold "Ex Oporto cellars"
Thanks for the responses, I had been looking to store my purchase IB for a few years. The cases were sold by a UK wine merchant, but I had been (erroneously) under the impression that it had been recently released from the producer's own or a local wine merchant's In Bond storage. Turns out that it ...

Port sold "Ex Oporto cellars"
A question for those of you much more knowledgeable on these matters than me (i.e. most of you), pertaining to a recent purchase I may from a reputable UK wine merchant. Is it possible for (vintage) port to be sold "Ex Oporto cellars" that is actually Duty Paid? My assumption would be that...

Departed London Heathrow Terminal 2 (The Queen's Terminal) this evening. In stock were a Graham's(?) LBV, G10yo and G20yo, Kopke 10yo and GM2001 - the last probably being the most interesting at £25 per bottle.

A couple more European ones.
Paris CDG has RP 30yo at 69EUR in some of the terminals.
Munich usually has Grahams 10,20,30,40yo.

Re: Porto in August with a non-drinker(!)
Fantastic suggestions here, thanks for the help and will definitely be taking advantage of pretty much all of them! Looks like lunch at Pinhao at LBV, plus Quinta de la Rosa and/or this should do the trick. When in Pinhao, you should get a taxi to Sandeman's Quinta do Vau (it's around 10 to 12 Euros...

Porto in August with a non-drinker(!)
Dear all, I am travelling to Portugal for a week in late August, including 3-4 days in and around Porto. I can think of plenty to do, however, I am travelling with my girlfriend, who is a NON-DRINKER . Thus far, I have secured permission to spend most of one day wandering around VNdG visiting port l...

http://churchills-porthouse.com/ Greek Street, London - book in advance. Bumped into this by pure chance whilst wandering through on Friday. I believe that the Sampler might be the only supplier of Butler and Nephew ports in the UK. They sell 10, 20 and 40-year tawnies and I think also had a 2003 vintage port on sale. http://www.thesampler.co.uk/store/department/19/Portugal/ I happen to live not too far from one of their shops and will b...
