Re: Apostrophe crimes

Is ‘double-magnum’ a compound noun, so hyphenated, or should it be an adjective and a noun, so non-hyphenatedly ‘double magnum’? Compare: • We drank three double-magnums. • We drank three double magnums. I prefer the hyphen, but am willing to concede to a contrary consensus. I guess if you drink th...

That's a nice little collection you bought there. Perhaps you should ask them if they also ship their wines abroad.
Did you also visit the Badie (http://www.badie.com) wine shop in Bordeaux?

There is also a 1976 Niepoort Colheita: http://www.niepoort-vinhos.com/de/ports ... .html#1976
It was bottled in 2004. You can get it for 75 Euros on the German market (shipping costs to the UK are quite low, so this should not be a problem).

I guess the thieves were quite grateful for this planning tool.

The technical sheet says it was bottled in 2012:

A local shop has this LBV so I'm tempted to get some (hence the research here on TPF and on the Romaneira website).

Re: What Her Majesty will be drinking in Germany

Further research shows that Her Majesty had a Stigler Freiburg Schlossberg Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) Weisherbst (Blanc de Noir) Beerenauslese with her dessert at the state banquet in Berlin. The vintage is not disclosed in this press article: http://www.badische-zeitung.de/ihringen/was-sagt-der-win...

What Her Majesty will be drinking in Germany

I thought it would be fun to do some research on what Her Majesty will be drinking during her state visit to Germany. So far only little information can be found. But this is definitely one she will try with her lunch in Frankfurt on Thursday: 1953 Kloster Eberbach Assmannshäuser Höllenberg Spätburg...

1998 Telmo Rodriguez Molino Real

Made of 100% Moscatel in the Spanish region of Málaga. Bottled after 20 months in French oak barrel: The first glas: brown colour, smells of caramel and quince (the nose somehow reminds me of a 5-year-old Madeira), medium body, not that sweet, in the mouth caramel and quince, it's also a littly bit ...

Re: Manoel de Oliveira, 1908-2015

There was an obituary in the local paper which said that de Oliveira made a living during the Salazar years by making port wine on the estate that his wife had inherited. I guess what the journalist meant was that he ran the quinta and sold the grapes to port companies.

Re: Fonseca Bicentenary Edition Crusted Port

I wonder if this is just the standard Fonseca Crusted that is released every year (this time with a bicentenary label) or really something more special to mark the occasion. The press release doesn't really give any information on the quality of the Crusted.
