I have nothing against the 2005 vintage - in fact, I do quite like it. The reason that I was suggesting it be left out was for no other reason than we might otherwise end up with too many very recent vintages.

My opinion was that it was a cork issue that became apparent with air, but I should note that few other people at the table agreed with me. Most thought it a wonderful wine. It did have a magnificent colour and promised so much on decanting - but such is the life of a port geek.
