Re: Friday 13th February: Graham vertical in New York
If the NYT writers are not available. do you know LIsa Granik? She is an MW and lives in Park Slope. She is also the most highly requested lecturer where I study wine. She is a very smart no nonsense lady.

Oh I definitely can help!
I also have reason to celebrate. I passed those 2 wine exams I took early November (one on sparkling wine, the other on fortified wine).

Re: Friday 13th February: Graham vertical in New York

So far they haven't called me in but I just need to wait until next Thurs. to check and if still not called in, I could come Fri. I realize you wanted to do a final count on who is coming for sure. In ...

Re: Friday 13th February: Graham vertical in New York

If I were to need to come in to work, I would know about it a week ahead of time. (IOW, count me in but if I have to work, I will give notice if I can't ...

I would be interested in splitting the cost of this one with you depending on when this tasting takes place. Is there a date set for this tasting?

Hi. Is there a date set for this tasting yet? I am free beginning the 2nd week of January. I could either purchase or adopt a bottle in this case.

Re: Nov 22nd Tasting Royal Oporto Colheita
HI y'all. I have reached a brief moment of intellectual challenge. When someone says "adopt" a wine, does it mean that someone else owns the bottle but just that the person adopting the bottle is paying the owner of that bottle for it to be his/her wine contribution for that evening?

Weekends generally work best for me. Right now, Mon/Tues?Wed evenings work but not Thurs/Fri. I do not have my mid-week schedule yet for next term. I am very interested in knowing once the date is set for jdaw's tastings. Meanwhile, see you Nov 22nd!

Sorry I have to pass on Nov 7. By the time I can get there after teaching my class (10PM ish) it would make more sense for me to come to the next one that is going on Sat Nov 22.
Cheers!

Thank you. So far I have learned that in blind tasting Madeira against Sherry Oloroso and port is that aged Madeira has a slight green tinge at the edge of the glass which does not exist in the other 2.
