Is anyone going to be there early? I could probably be there somewhere between 5.30 and 6PM and wouldn't mind a pre-port beer.

I didn't but they had the same port on the plane as well, so I got through my 6 hour delay without too many complaints. Luckily my baggage made it in one piece, so the bottle for tomorrow is standing upright.

Was this Qta. da Agua Alta? If so, my experience was very similar to this.

For me, the best olive oil producer in the Douro is CARM. They have a long history of making great oil and press and bottle the oils from almost every quality quinta in the region. If you're in the region, a visit to their mill is well worth the effort.

What a wonderful coincidence. Seems like your systems have aligned, you have been drinking too many ports together for too long.

Tonight we'll drink a Niepoort 1952 Garrafeira, thanks to StevieCage, and with Christmas at the in-laws it will be Calem 1977 (which is leaking so an obvious victim).

I now know that I won't be in London around this time, so please remove my name from the waiting list.

However, I will be in town end February, and am of course looking forward to drinking some Port with you. I will start a thread for that in due time.
