Re: New Style
A matter of note, though slightly off-topic: on screen the official TPF red is 60%:0:0 = #990000; when printed it is Pantone 704.

Re: 1995 Offley Boa Vista
So the plan was that I go to the gym in the afternoon. Ahead of which a Offley Boa Vista 1995 was decanted, at DRT’s suggestion, to liven the evening, with some saved for tomorrow. Then a friend of the wife’s came round, with my mother-in-law. I had to offer them a glass. And it would have been rude...

1995 Offley
A 1995 Offley Boa Vista was opened, following a suggestion from somebody signing himself Derek (Cofi Anan) Turnbull that I shuld drink port. The bottle (not the recommendation) cost $26+tax from Warehouse Wines & Spirits®, 735 Broadway at Astor Place, New York, NY 10003, tel +1 212 982 7770; ...

No. A well-kept pint of London Pride is a joy. TTL has a slight advantage, but both are excellent ales. TTL = F66, agreed, but FLP = F77.

Re: New Style
The colour alternation had already been changed — neither is white. Can we see how that looks before committing to new colours. I’m also unhappy with the horizontal line after the signature — it tricks the eye into believing that the signature belongs to the next post. One possibility would be to ...

SushiNorth: thank you for volunteering to write the code. It is eagerly awaited.
Also, there has been general disapproval of the tawny box on the front page; it will become red.

OK. Comments noted. When the repairs already done are uploaded, I will attend to some of the additional complaints — beginning with the obvious but dull question, how do I set a maximum width? (And Jakob Nielsen is a real expert: his words carry great weight with me.)

Re: New Style
New icons have been made, based on Derek’s idea of red background for unread and white background for read. The only blue I see on the front page is that of a link — and links are usually blue. Am I missing something? I want the user to control the page width — not me. No alterations planned in th...

Re: 1985 Graham's vintage port
This is a very odd and un-Derek-like tasting note. How did DRT manage to persuade a half bottle, a mere half!, to last 30 hours? In the dim and distant past this would have been believed impossible.

Same size: 18 by 18, here and there.
Currently the background is used to distinguish stickies from non-stickies (the tawny slightly resembling the yellow of a PostIt note). If red background is unread, how do I show read and unread stickies?

Champagne magnums
My father and I wish to split a case of magnums of champagne: dry, good quality, probably vintage, but not outrageously expensive. Does anyone have any recommendations better value than Mumm Belle Epoque Vintage 1999, 3Ã 1.5L, at £303?

The little * shows a topic to which you have posted. Animations are hateful, and meant to indicate a ‘hot topic’, that is, one with â”°Â¥15 replies. As ‘hot’ is mean to be a topic in which one is more likely to be interested, my icons indicate this with a tiny glass. Better than no glass at all! An...

1. They come in a handy box that slides right under your bed.
2. Thirty-six glasses is five people, seven bottles, and a spare. You might need them.
3. Due to some breakages I could take a dozen from you, if you still want to split a box.
