Re: Y2K Tasting Tuesday 17th March

Re: NV Wine Society Crusted (bottled 2006)
Phew. Whilst Mrs L is aware we have wine in storage, I haven't exactly admitted how much. Always best to keep a few cards hidden up my sleeve.

Re: 1970 Horizontal - Tier 3 ports
I have voted evening. Not entirely sure I would give the tiers 1 and 2 Ports a fair chance if I had already tasted tier 3 in the morning, but prepared to give it my best shot should that prove consensus.

Re: NV Wine Society Crusted (bottled 2006)
Thanks for the note. Excellent. This makes me very happy. I bought another 6, and 6 of the 2007, which are in storage at The Wine Society. I've not thought about them for some time, but perhaps I now should. One day, when I get room at home (buying > drinking = chronic shortage of space and Mrs L se...

Re: 2016 The Liberator Episode 9 Revisited
My Mother-in-Law has just given me a bottle of this for Christmas. Her local independent wine shop (Beverley) suggested it as they thought I would likely have tried most of their Ports. Having read your tasting note I'm even more intrigued. I'm inclined to keep it at least a few years before opening...

Re: Messias Cachao, Wed 23 Oct 2019, at the B&F
Well, this was a delightful tasting, and I learnt a lot. Primarily, Messias Cachão have a long history of making very tasty Ports many of which we were lucky enough to try. Softer and slightly sweeter than the style we are used to in the UK: extremely tasty, elegant and easy to drink. The 1970 for m...

I have no Poças The only time I have tried any was some older white as part of a flight in Portologia, and it was lovely.
