Re: 1983 Dow

Hi Derek,

I am a fan of Dow 1983 too. It takes an awful long time to come round but then it is really great. Also because of the VA and slow evolving it is still cheap and easy to get. :)

Re: 55 @ 55

Derek,

this is fine by me; however I can only add Mags from the vintage 1955 from Grahams. Have not come accross others so far. Would have bought them since sometimes normal bts just go too quickly. I am sure Jdaw1 and you understand/are appreciative ;-)

Re: 55 @ 55

Hmm, I thought in May I managed successfully to get Enrico added to the list. It looks this was not the case. Can he please be added to the waiting list?

Overall i think we have by far to much interest and not enough places. Hence I would like to suggest to do the tasting twice.

After checking with Alex I will bring only six glasses. Due to the limited space in the pub he said more would not make sense.I can bring more if required. Please let me know.

Re: What will be the Christmas Port?

Hi, I love the systematic approach to this important question ! I however fall unfortunately into the emmotional section. Guess I will go into my cellar at my mothers place in Germany and pick a bt. Love doing this!!! It will be highly likely a Croft 1955 recently aquired at auction since it started...

Re: Beating the (New Year) Blues - Tuesday 5th January 2010

Hi Ben, to follow Dereks suggestion i could add Martinez 1994 and 1967 (like this Port based on the 66/67 comparison tasting ). Or you rather prefer SWC 1970, Gould Campel 1970, Warre 1970, Noval 1970, Croft 1970, Dow 1970 or Fonseca 1970. These are the 70ties ports i have at my flat. From no other ...

Hi Tom,

all your suggestions are fine with me. If possible I would like to have soup as a starter. Also i will be able to bring some glasses. Can I kindly ask you to decant the port I left with you for the event (Croft believed to be 1960)?

Hope i find the venue and do not get lost.

Hi Ben,

great that you can make it.

Hi Axel,

as a bt for the second stint I can bring a bt of the following Grahams 1985, Warre 1985, Warre Cavadinha 1987, Delaforce 1985, Delaforce Corte 1987 or a Noval 1985.

Hmmm, based on the conversation so far it looks to me none of you has had really good "Port/Colheita" typisch stuff from other areas on the globe so far. Also funnily enough on Tuesday evening as part of a pre dessert i was served a 1949 Cavendisch sort of 30 year Colheita (must have been ...

Re: Beating the (New Year) Blues in London - January 2010

Hi Ben,

sounds good; will be here in London as well. What about if we do a big Vesuvio comparison?

This should be as a theme elaborate enough.

On the other hand if you insist to have 1970 Ports to drink (understandable) I am sure I find something interesting as well.

Hi there,

if still space available can you please add Enrico to the list of participants? You probably remember Maggie and him from the 1970 Horicontal. He can bring either a perfectly stored bt of Croft or Taylor 1955.

Yep, but we still also need to check if we can get the Warre 1950. It maybe a bit academic (supposed according to uncle Tom not so good) but nevertherless.

Will update all shortly.
