There is now a chance I can make the 21st. I'll try and confirm in a week or two.

Re: Sighted, Blind: advantages, disadvantages

Where blind is done, I favour earlier rather than later reveal, where possible. This is a big learning from the tasting. It would have been much better to force a quick rush towards a guess on "what is it", even with that being a little rushed, and then having more time to taste and rate ...

Re: Wed 17 June 2015, Woolgate, Sweet-Spot Vintages

Thanks to everyone for a very enjoyable evening, and great to see some new faces round the table. Hats off to Davy's at Woolgate for hosting us perfectly - everything was just as we needed it. A special thank you to Chris for sharing the Sandeman Cask 33 with us - very much appreciated, and I enjoye...

Some totalling by Mike, though of what nobody knows. http://www.jdawiseman.com/2015/20150617_totals.png This sheet is the vital evidence for judging the hypothesis on the sweet-spot vintages! The hypothesis was that the 66, 70 and 77 vintages are all currently in a very good place, and in fact migh...

G70 (unknown English bottler, pesky rubber capsule) double decanted at noon and now at B&F. There's also an unopened backup G70 (Oporto bottled, looks like it was shipped in 90s / 2000s) if that bottle proves to be faulty or uninspiring with air - feel free to use discretion on set-up. Plus a b...

Good assumption. First pot updated.

I think there may be a glitch in the matrix. Was it the same cat? On the pdf of the placemats, all the attendees have 36 stickers, starting from "I" and ending with "W77". Everyone, that is, except for AHB and AJA. Their stickers start at "II". Do I get a Blue Peter bad...

This tasting is at Woolgate, where there is plenty of table space (see pictures in review of Ramos Pinto tasting on Tuesday 21 st October 2014 ). Some newcomers will be attending. Should placenames be included in the paperwork , in turn necessitating that Names be formatted as ‘Julian W.’ rather th...

Rough guess on hammer price at auction, maybe £3,200. Not sure you'll find a single buyer who is all set to part with that amount.
