Thanks to ADV for giving me this bottle as part of a challenge. We met in Oporto in October 07 and exchanged bottles under the rule that the wine in the bottle had to be older than the recipient and cost less than £30 ($60). I think ADV may have cheated on the price  Just a little  G...

Decanting for a Noval 66 ?? how long time ?? We will drink it next week I have absolutely no idea, I've never tried the Noval '66 and I'm very interested to hear what you think of it. Unless someone has some experience, perhaps it would be wise to give it a couple of hours in the decanter and then ...

LOL...did we ever hear back from the IVDP as to what that Selo # was actually for? Because it wasn't for a Croft in 1933. Also the capsule was plastic and had serations along the middle, just under the lip of the bottle, to make it easier to take it off....think a cheap bottle of water with a plasti...

Its interesting that Graham's Six Grapes actually gets the better grapes than their LBV....and Six Grapes is actually right below their VP's in the pecking order for the top grapes. I do wish they would make an unfiltered LBV as even their filtered one is normally quite good and I know an unfiltered...

. Can I assume that after being in the Douro for 7 days drinking 40+ ports per day you will be wanting a few days off the juice when you arrive here in the UK? Are you mad..and lose my steam, no way. I fully expect to keep going full steam ahead. There is no stopping a Port-o-philiac  88) ...

Most of the major shippers do a heavy filtration and cold stabilizing. That way the product always looks the same on the shelf or when its poured. For the most part, only the smaller, more independant companies do very little or no filtration and/or cold stabilizing. Niepoort Garrafeira never get fi...

Exactly, Jdaw1 is being a granny :P Don't listen to him. The Boston offline was 13 bottles (14 if you count the fake one) and one was a magnum. There was 8 of us and we finished all but about a total of 1 bottle. We've got roughly twice as many Ports and twice as many people....it works out fine. Th...

wow, where did you find such an old bottling of this 10 year? Quite rare that any aged tawny would be kept that long. I would disagree that all wood aged Ports can age in bottle. Niepoort is one of the few minority companies that makes a wood aged Port that can last for many years after bottling. Wh...
