My #3 ,

i think this was the one with the most finesse out of the bunch.

fresh berries, and I follow JDAW with the no heat.

with a spicy/nutty slight menthol finish that had at least a 40 sec finish.

I like this one alot, but I feel the 85 warres at the same age will probably be the better port.

this one had started out strong being one of the smoothest of the bunch, but there was this strange herbal note to it. I was trying to think of the herb and thinking back I think it was Anise I was tasting, not the green mint. the length on this was one of the longest, and the tannins were really so...

I also thought this to be slightly corked. There was a slight musty cardboard nose and taste when the wine sat in the glass. the legs on this w ine was the best out of the bunch with a beautiful dark red ruby color. The finish was a good 30 sec finish rich sweet berries also a tinge of black pepper....

This was the last place wine for me. It was a bit rough, and the finish was sorely disappointing. As we let it sit and open the finish lengthened but still only lasted 15-20 seconds, one of the shortest in the tasting. But the tannins have smoothened out. strong mint on the nose, coughed up a good o...

My second fav wine. I thought it initially tasted like York peppermint patties. the finish started a bit short ... but as the wine opened up it went a 30+ sec finish .. it was the lightest wine of the bunch. Cloudy brown-red. for me this was like drinking a light milk chocolate covered red berries. ...

This was my WOTN, me and julian disagree a bit on our taste profiles, but then again Julian simply has had much more port in his life then I've drunk water in mine. nose of cinnamon and light hints of figs? a light purple that tutrned into a reddish hue, I didn't notice the brown edge, but that migh...

Radiation and wine

I was wondering in my drunken stupor last night.

Would radiation effect w ine? How bout cell phone waves?

Let's say you had a hi gain antenna for wi fi in the cellar.

Would it change the taste of the wine?

Just to report, fill levels were both pristine for the sandeman and the rebello didn't taste the wines, couldn't bring myself to drink at 6 in the morning seriuosly chunky wines the corks for both were perfectly intact. The sandeman was seeped all the way through tho making the foil cap a bit sticky...

Hey jdaw1,

apologies to you and the rest of the guys joining on monday.

I'm gonna have to DK the croft 77.

I checked the fill and it was shoulder level.

Going to replace it with a Rebello Valente 77 instead.

apologies again.

I've had teh S 70 a few years back and while very enjoyable,
the fruit was starting to fade a little and turning a bit tawny like.

but still a very solid wine

I actually don't mind buying from costco simply because they move their inventory so fast. People really do scour the lists to see what's out there and if it's a steal ... it'll be gone as soon as they put it out. I love costco for the taylor 20 tawny ... they had it for like 28$ before tax ... Conk...
