C'mon guys, anyone watched the game against Poland last night and not supporting Germany...

There are 2 prime league players there as well. Ballack and Lehmann (o.k. the latter is about to go).

Anyways: bet on us and you will see.

I like the Rozes LBVs a lot. They are fairly expensive, but worth every penny. The difference to the Vintage Ports of Rozes is not that big, though.

Good hint,

I still got a hangover from the hagges.

Thanks a lot for preparing it so nicely. My dad was very jealous, because he likes that stuff as well.

I had this one in Feb during a Grahams vertical and thought the same thing. Especially because they are not a good value for the fairly high money.

Jdaw, exactly my impression when I had it together with the Noval 63. I was not impressed of both wines leading to not buying Novals for a couple of years in the past. Of course the younger years are better, but they should have been able to produce better wines in these years since many winemakers ...

Back from Ireland, I enjoyed myself on both Islands on the last two weeks. From my point of view - although I was suffering from a lack of sleep big time - the Dow was the Port with the highest score although not being very close to full maturity. I was one of the Ferreira lovers concerning drinkabl...

Ronnie,

thats a shame. A tasting on solid ground (i.e. the continent) and I am on the island. I will be in Ireland at this time since there are school holidays in Germany.

All the best to the tasting.

Splendid idea,

although I like the Noval LBV unfiltered better than the Niepoort, I just got a box of 2001 LBV, which is very good.

Since I finished all my Warres LBV last year, I am limited to another 4 posts until then...

Hey guys, I am definitely excited since I do not know all of you yet. Tom is very kindly picking me up at the airport so we might have the chance to drink some of the Fonseca on the way (well - after all it is a Magnum, so who would miss a sip or two). If we do arrive: do not blame us for drinking&a...

... that would of course depend on the price. Since I am not drinking a whole bottle of VP per night, I would hardly go for a Vintage Port, except half bottles. I do not want to be too emotional, but isnt the possibility to have different Ports on different evenings the best. I would always prefer v...

I found that Rozes produces some very nice (unfiltered) LBVs. There are just a tiny little bit less intesive than the real VPs.

Although I do share the same feelings as most of you concerning all the different brands and styles I am as well worrying what the Real Companhia Velha will do with this brand. Delaforce is fairly strong in Germany - whatever that means as 99% of the Port buyable here is rubbish. I do not know any o...

1979 Grahams Malvedos

Out of a half bottle. A very seducive red colour with some brown hints, this wine cannot hide its age. As Grahams bottled their VP in fairly transparent green bottles the hughe ammount of sediment is visible. Good concentration and structure. Directely after opening the wine showed a fruity bouquet,...

Miguel will participate in the tasting, too. What a great surprise and an honor!

The dark glasses are outrageous. I own 6 of them as well and the thing with "not being able to differentiate between White and Red Port" is not too far away... Back in the 90s you could buy some Chrystal Pepsi in the US. I brought many cans to Germany challenging folks to tell me what it i...

I will arrive at 1440 at Stansted and probably need 1:30 at least from there. So I will join later, but no problem as long as my port is still there and no one of you nasty guys spit in it.
