I'm not drinking F85 tonight either. So you're not alone. A sorrow shared is a sorrow halved.

There is a picture in my mind's eye: you two in bed wearing white nightshirts and nightcaps saluting the beholder with a glass of rose champagne. A kind of TPF Bed-In.

I haven't seen the question yet, so just to help Derek... Is it an Ostrich? To help you catch up. This is the current question: I bought two half bottles on Friday. One was an LBV, but what was the other? All other guesses so far were wrong (such as another bottle of port, Champagne, Sherry). Any m...

Re: Apostrophe crimes
No. But you use 'an' whenever there is a non-consonantal sound of any kind, just so that the sounds can run on: the letter L is simply pronounced 'ell' but that begins with an open-voiced sound, rather than something like a fricative or plosive (etc). It's just easier to say: "an-ell" rat...

"An" sounds better for me, too (even do I'm not a native speaker). But is there really such a prominent vowel sound to justify this, such as "EeeLBV"?DRT wrote:I think "an LBV" is correct. Presumably because of the vowel sound when you pronounce the first letter.
