I could list Ports from the 19th century but hopefully more realistically, the following (two from the same house and two from the same year):
Ni70 (slightly surprising that I don't believe I have tasted this)
Ni55

Re: A Gould Campbell vertical
Twenty?! This has not been perfectly managed. Let's start by moving Mrs W. To the waitlist. Bye bye my love. And some others: perhaps the unconfirmed? Or the late joiners? I was merely picking up from where it had been left which it appeared was 18 people. Twenty?! or even twenty-two, since I think...

Re: A Gould Campbell vertical
Just to add to my post above I would suggest (based upon bottles currently in people's possession) that the tasting should comprise vintages 1924-1994 (Inc) which has a nice symetry about it. Also means that we have 8 months to track down a 45, 55 and 60 (plus a putative 42).

Re: A Gould Campbell vertical
Ian: do you want me to book the B&F (+44 20 7407 1184)? May I edit the first post to add placemats and be generally helpful? Yes, I should be very grateful :) Having scrolled through the original invitation I can now see that this tasting is heavily subscribed (at least in principle) no doubt p...

Re: A Gould Campbell vertical
B&F closes 10pm on Mondays. Is there a reason why not Tuesday? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk Only picked a Monday as this is when we have tended to hold tastings. However, happy to slightly revise the date fort this tasting to be Tuesday 10 October 2017. On Thu 05 Jan 2017 the poster was ...

Re: A Gould Campbell vertical
At a small gathering last night I found myself volunteering (being volunteered?) to take on the mantle of progressing this blessed GC vertical. So the first job is to select a date and so as October (2017) was mooted last night let's plump for Monday 9 October 2017 (at the B&F-subject to availab...

A Happy New Year to all!
My bottle for this evening was decanted at 7am and I'm hopeful that it will taste as good as it looked. Should be there by about 6.30pm.

Re: Christmas wine and port
New approach this year-a single bottle of VP plus a 1989 Barao do Vilar colheita. However, the VP is a DM of SV99 (which I plan to decant tonight)!

Re: Emergency, Wed 04 Jan 2017
It seems that availability is maximised by it being Wed 04 Jan 2017. The Green Room has been booked. Sorry Cookie — not you. Theme? Predictable I know but 'from a year ending in a 7'? I would suggest that this excludes shippers earmarked for the tasting on 1 February (albeit this is large formats)....

Re: Thu 15 December 2016 - The TPF Xmas Offline
I have noted that Phil, Ian and Charles have all volunteered to share a cab with me. I'm about to book a cab to pick us up from the Cricketer's Arms at 17.15 to drop off at the White Horse at 17.30 and pick up at the White Horse at 00.20 to drop us back at the Cricketers Arms at 00.30. Please confi...

Re: 77@40 from Magnum and Tappit Hen - Wed 1st Feb 2017
Unless I’m missing somebody (who?), that makes thirteen people. Seckfords could be asked to deliver my magnums of Gould Campbell 1977, which would take us to 21.6 bottles volume, all in formats of at least magnum. In which case we could accommodate sixteen. Charles to decide. I stand corrected; I h...

Re: 77@40 from Magnum and Tappit Hen - Wed 1st Feb 2017
Please count me in - cheers T. At the moment I have T, W, G, D, QH in Mags I can get the D in Tappit - but it is very expensive. With Tony I make that 14 in total and so I believe that we are full. Tony's mention of the QH is interesting as this means that we now have potentially 8 mags between 14....

Re: 77@40 from Magnum and Tappit Hen - Wed 1st Feb 2017
Two Tappit Hens plus eight magnums is 21.6 bottles volume. That’s enough for sixteen people, perhaps seventeen True enough, but I believe we on have two TH and six (not eight?) magnums listed currently, which would be 17.6 bottles, sufficient for our usual 14. Phil's interpretation of my post is co...

Re: 77@40 from Magnum and Tappit Hen - Wed 1st Feb 2017
We're almost at capacity for this tasting (and I suspect that we will be in short order) and so what about TH's of the G and W and mags of the others listed (including the GC)? That would be the equivalent of just over 14 regular bottles.

Re: Port for sale by retailer
Sainsbury currently have the combined offers of 25% off 6 bottles or more of wine/port, and reductions on some ports. Specifically, they have: - Graham's Malvedos SQVP (currently vintage 2004 in our store) at £23 instead of £27; or £17.25ea instead of £27 if buying as part of 6 or more. - Graham's ...

Re: Wed 23 November
Placemats seem fine to me (and I see that JDAW is bringing a second bottle). Great to see that Phil is fit enough to make a return and that Alex can also join us. We can also now more justify the booking for 10 persons with the B&F! My bottle was decanted at 6.45am and first impressions were fav...

Maynard's 40YO tawny 750ml - £29.99 (I had a couple of bottles of this last year and also agai...

Re: Jancis Robinson - Vintners' Tales
I'm shocked as Nigel doesn't seem to know what he's in charge of, in terms of what they have in the cellars. I love when Nigel and Jancis walk into the "Main cellar" and the room is empty. Classic! Yes, he came across as somewhat of stereotype Fellow-not really appreciating the valu...
