Re: Yet another Porto travel thread

PS. Isn’t it ridiculous that we are now so spoiled for choice that I aimed to avoid the Quinta da Santa Eufemia, Quinta das Lamelas and São Leonardo at Portologia on the basis that I wanted to try something even more obscure! This! Seems like it is HARD to make dodgy wine inside IVDP demarcation. Th...

Re: 1986 Taylor Terra Feita

I’ll say it till I’m blue, 1986 is THE sleeper vintage in port.

2000 is second.

1970 is universally known at this point, and is still dirt cheap

2011 isn’t “cheap”, but you can get basically anything you want (except Quevedo)

Thanks for the share!

Pray for America

Not much to say. I am ashamed and despondent, and my fellow Americans would benefit from prayers for peace, patience, insight and compassion.

God be merciful.

Still quite tannic (as evidenced by minimal sediment) but drinking nicely and stood up well to a rather lively Madras.

Excessive alcohol — I don’t like spirity Ports

:tpf: Is a special place. The reasons are multitude but the point is that its individual members, with perspectives and preferences as varied as their personalities, have continuously helped me think in new ways about a subject on which I have already invested so much. Thanks for the note. I've enjoyed these previously but only have a few left and have been saving them, which appears justified based on your experience. 1980 in general is a better vintage than its reputation suggests (for port at least...)
