An unlabeled bottle, appearing to be old glass. The cork was branded Taylor 1935 although the glass of the bottle appeared to be 20 years older. A light, burnt siennna colour; very transparent. A little oxidised on the nose (mid-shoulder fill), smelling of burnt oranges and rosemary. Smooth in the m...

One of a bottle of 5 acquired as a lot of unknown 1927 port at auction. Initially, on decanting this was a deep red colour and had a very thick texture; rich and full in flavour and with a good length. On serving 3 hours later, this wine had flattened and developed an incredible nose of fresh cut mu...

Bottled by the Symingtons for Sainsbury's Taste The Difference range. Decanted through coffee filter paper, leaving only fine and sludge-like sediment. It's a fun read, and they seem to fully appreciate the privileged position they are in and the phenomenal wines...

Re: Have you Cleared the Path Outside of Your House?
I cleared the path from the pavement up the hillto the front door and also cleared the door step. I didn't clear the pavement outside my house or the road outside my house because I couldn't find the energy to shovel 12 inches of snow where no-one walks.

Welcome back. Is Swine Flu the same thing as Man Flu? No, it most certainly isn't. Swine 'flu is blinkin' awful. I can understand that it could potentially kill the frail, the young, the elderly and the teetotal. ADMIN: why can I not use this unacceptable word under these circumstances??!! [...

Swine 'flu receeding and will soon be nothing more than a nasty memory of 2 weeks without port (or any other alcoholic beverage) - which means that tonight's glass holds most of what was left of the Cockburn 2000 LBV that I started on Boxing Day. But what should I open next to cheer myself up with? ...

It's about the lowest price I've seen for a wine which has a tremendous reputation. If you afford to, I would buy some. I'm still looking out for more, even at $150 per bottle.
