What is the best closure for Vintage Port?

Post by christopherpfaff »

Oscar Quevedo start some weeks ago a very interesting experiment to answer this question.

He bottled his 2014 Vintage Port with 3 different closures:

- natrual cork
- screwcap
- plastic cork

+ a fourth bottle in "pota" shape (with natural cork)

to see in a decade or so with what closre the wine (in all bottles is exactly the same) matures better.

See also my new video about this project:

The set is availible in a wooden box. 500 boxes are made.
