OK guys, this is a place to show your knowledge so give me a complete definition of Ruby Port and all its derivatives.

Ok, I'll try a basic definition and then those of you that have all the facts at hand can expand.

Ruby covers a range of port that are blended to give a dark port that is ready to drink. It may be described as Reserve, Special Reserve and, in the past, Vintage Character. This is no longer allowed because it wasn't vintage and it had no character thus contravening the Trades Description Act on all fronts.

Rubies are at the bottom end of the scale as far as quality and price are concerned, but they do help to make a damned fine Bolognese.
