2008 Vintage Port Declarations

Post by DRT » 23:38 Mon 26 Apr 2010

As 2008 is clearly not going to be a generally declared vintage the title of this thread is perhaps slightly misleading as the vintage ports from off-vintages are often described as being "Released" rather than "Declared". Regardless of the merits of one or the other description, I thought it would be useful to have a thread to record which shippers are producing a vintage port from the 2008 vintage.

To start the ball rolling I have recieved confirmation from each of the relevant shippers that the following 2008 vintage ports will be released:

Alves de Souza
Burmester
Cockburn Quinta dos Canais
Quinta do Crasto
Croft Quinta do Roeda [Factsheet]
Dow Quinta do Bomfim
Dow Quinta de Senhora da Ribeira
Duorum
Duorum Vinha de Castelo Melhor
Quinta do Estanho
Fonseca Guimaraens [Factsheet]
Fonseca Quinta do Panascal [Factsheet]
Graham Quinta dos Malvedos
Kopke Quinta São Luiz
Niepoort Pisca (at least some of which has been bottled as Niepoort Bioma Vinha Velha)
Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo
Quinta do Noval
Quevedo Quinta Vale D'Agodinho
Quinta de Romaneira
Rozes
Taylor Quinta de Terra Feita [Factsheet]
Taylor Quinta de Vargellas [Factsheet]
Quinta do Vesuvio

Please post away as and when you find confirmation that a particular wine has been produced.

Links to other lists of declarations: 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005

Note: The Factsheets relating to the Croft, Fonseca and Taylor wines linked to above were kindly supplied to me by Adrian Bridge, Managing Director of the Taylor Fladgate Partnership, whose Copyright © is hereby acknowledged.

Thanks for the info, Derek. Unfortunately the IVDP is not too much of a helping hand here.
