But is it drinkable? There are no TN's for this that I can see!

I've had some of their "Ruby Select Reserve" which seemed to be a reasonable ruby. I'm not sure if it's the same wine as this or not. For what it's worth, I've noticed that Tesco quite often discount their main reserve ruby by 50% or do a buy-one-get-one-free deal on it.

Perhaps I should have added that I did not buy any, but that is not to say that it is undrinkable. Perhaps you could volunteer to try one for the team and be the first to post a TN?

While walking the streets of NYC we stumbled across Chambers Street Wines. A very nice store with a small port collection, but some nice old bottles. They had a full case of Warre 1970 for $125 a bottle. We bought one, so eleven remaining for those interested. There was also Warre 1977, Graham 1977 and 1975, see the website for prices.

For those interested in Vouvray, they also had a fantastic selection of Huet, both old and young and both sweet and dry.

What Ronnie said - but expect to pay full market rates, especially for older vintages.

It might be worth noting that they indulge in the particularly annoying practice of not including all taxes in their advertised prices (which may be unlawful under s.4 Price Marking Order 2004). Expect a 15% uplift on the final price.

(Please feel free to ignore the following:

Far too many wine merchants indulge in this and it’s entirely inexcusable. Full prices should be clear and unambiguous, especially when they are not selling anything in bond and there’s no question that the purchaser will be a consumer.)

For clarity: although I haven’t bought anything from them (I pulled out when the extra tax took the price from competitive to expensive), their service was very good up to that point.

I see that they haven't corrected this price yet, despite having been informed of the error by at least 2 different people in the last couple of months.

More likely that they bought a case, opened one and then realised their mistake  - beware of cases with 1 bottle missing

Coming up for sale on winestilsoldout.com: Taylor Fladgate Vargellas 2005. price $48.

Edit: What a joke. The "Best web price yesterday" is listed as $60. I am RIGHT NOW looking at someone else selling it for $33.
Edit: And... its gone. Was up for maybe 5 mins. Some people buy anything just because they like the idea of the event -- like the people who get too emotional and overbid at auctions.
