Given the slating that the Cockburn Special Reserve has just received, I thought it amusing to see it on the shelf at Tesco right next to the unfiltered Noval LBV and at the bargain discount to the Noval of all of 71p cheaper!

I can't find any record of a W74 VP being released. Perhaps it is a Colheita?

My eye was initially attracted to the $58 Graham’s 1985.

My eye was initially attracted to the $58 Graham’s 1985.

Then I saw the “375† caveat. Whoops.

Not at that price, especially not with international shipping added.

There are some attractive prices mixed in with some very eye-watering prices on the Aabalat list.

And Alex B.: I did expect that the Fr08 would be deemed a touch pricey.

Clue: title of thread = “Port for sale by retailer†. This thread is the wine broker, at 0% commission.

=) That's what I get for following Derek's suggestion of drinking and posting.

Do you ever spot cheap ones, or does that simply not happen in America?

That Sandemans 60, and Cockburn 63 I recently aquired, for just under £40 each, would appear a steal compared to the prices which keep getting posted.

That's my finding as well. I think i got the Qd Bom. for 35 up here, but regardless the low quantity and perceived elitism of Port/"Old wine" keep prices astronomical. I'd like to say tariffs were a factor, but they don't affect the prices of all wine this way.

Soho wines was actually the most reasonable i've seen in a while, but one of my friends tackled me when i went for the third bottle. No port was lost in the process (though my cellar is sadder as a result).
