Naming competition

Post by jdaw1 »

This thread is a naming competition. Various Port shippers have decided to bottle old casks, give them a fancy name, and sell them at a fancy price.

The competition is to suggest a fancy name.

If that name is then used by a shipper, that shipper is morally obliged to give a bottle of the lovely juice to the person who named it.

I’ll go first: Forgotten Forgiven. It was an old cask, left so long that the shipper had, in effect forgotten about it. But the cask itself has forgiven this administrative oversight.

In an oblique font (not italics) to suggest a moving forward past this ancient failure to remember.

I claim "Old Douro".

I refuse to enter the competition to attach a marketing message.

It is not for us to choose a winner, but many of the suggested names have amused me.
