Comments: In the Preface, the author unashamedly declairs that this book is styled on Bottlescrew Days (AL Simon, 1926) and has re-used much of the material from the classic works of Barry, Henderson, Seltman, Saintsbury, Shand, Simon, Cockburn and others. I enjoy Allen's style of writing and reading this book is a good way to gain the key knowledge contained in the many volumes created by those previous authors. A good addition to any wine library.
