Bibliotheca Vinaria
Author: André L. Simon
First Published: 1913
Edition: 1979
Code/Source: ISBN: 0 900470 96 8
Pages: 340
Comments: This book was originally produced as a catalogue of wine books for the Wine Trade Club. My copy is a reprint of Simon's personal copy, complete with additions written in his own hand, that was re-printed as a limited edition of 600 copies by the Holland Press in 1979. An assumption on my part is that this book was the insparation of Gabler's Wine into Words, published in 1985, which takes much the same format but is more up to date.

The History of Ancient and Modern Wines
Author: Alexander Henderson
First Published: 1824
Edition: 1979
Code/Source: ISBN-13: 978-9992057186
Pages: 396
Comments: One of the first comprehensive books on wine written in the English language and invariably features in the bibliography of any serious book about the history of wine and wine-making ever since it was written. Mine is a pristine copy of a limited edition re-print published by the Bacchus Press in 1979. If I ever have £4,000 going spare I may buy myself a First Edition!

Wines, Scriptural and Ecclesiastical
Author: Norman Shanks Kerr
First Published: 1881
Edition: 1881
Code/Source: ASIN: B0008A0HP0
Pages: 138
Comments: This is a beautiful little book which, unfortunately, is about a subject that is taboo on this forum. To give you a clue as to its contents, the author is described as "Hon. Sec. to the Society for Promoting Legislation for the Control and cure of Habitual Drunkards, and to the Dalrymple Home for Inebriates."
