Interesting-thanks Simon, but is the comment about the largest gap between vintages in over half a century really true? What about 85-91 (as 87 wasn't generally declared), 2011 and counting doesn't match that yet?

So 2011 widely declared, but not ’12 nor ’13 nor 14 nor ’15. Which is also the same gap as 1970-’75.

41 years ago in parallel years, so while not quite half a century I feel it's forgivable hyperbole for a magazine article.

This is the real problem. 26 years isn't even close to half a century, being only roughly half of half a century. And that's without quibbling about whether '91/'92 even counts since it was a split declaration.
