Deep red with an opaque centre. Muted fruit on the nose, none of the deep concentrated blackcurrant seen on some of the ports from this vintage. Medium weight entry; gripping tannins with clean fruit — more elegance and refinement than the other SFE ports from the vintage. Gentle grip on the aftertaste and a lingering dark damson finish. This is certainly a port made in the vein of the elegant style of Cockburn from yester-year and will mature beautifully as a result. 87-89.

Ck16 Deep ruby red with a slight purple rim. More red fruit than black. Lots of acidity on the finish.Softer and more elegant than some on the night but slightly off balance. After the 2011 and 2015 VPs from Cockburn, I think I hoped for more to be honest. But still a good port.

80% opacity, dark red. Raspberry on the nose. Smooth entry, then quick to dryness. Tannin level high, medium coarseness. Raspberry, goes dry so quick. Finish not there.
