1965 Krohn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Chestnut brown in colour, slightly cloudy; 30% opaque. Subdued on the nose showing some very gentle strawberry and a touch of alcohol. Smooth and sweet on the palate, initially very light but this puts on power and sweetness towards the late palate. The acidity balances the wine nicely but never quite cuts through the sweetness. There is an attractive baked vanilla component running through the sweet fruit. A touch of heat shows on the aftertaste before a soft baked strawberry meringue finish. Elegant, but ever so sweet. 88/100. 06-May-15.
