Wonderful rich red colour, opaque centre, mature rim. Lovely nose of sweet fruit and a touch of the spiciness that comes with maturity. A nice balance on the palate with a good depth of fruit and plenty of layering of flavours. A lovely aftertaste and good, persistent length. When these bottles are good, this is a lovely rich port that is elegant rather than powerful. Very nice. 89/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
