2010 Croft LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2015. Deep red with a narrow rim; no bricking. Limited on the nose with a bit of brown wood and gentle flowery fruit. Modest entry with little fruit showing initially but then comes a flow of gentle tannins and soft fruit. The palate is sharp and unbalanced but should improve if the port is allowed to sit in the bottle for a year or so. The promise of this port is shown in the long and outstanding finish. 84/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
