NV Fonseca Crusted 2008 (Bicentenary edition)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red with some youth still showing on the rim. Delightful floral nose, elegant and lifting. A lovely texture, so smooth; sweet fruit with a great balance, the gentle tannins surround a sharp acidity. The combination gives a delicious palate that is full of chocolate, paprika and blackberries. Blackberries dominate the aftertaste and the long chewy finish. 89/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
