NV Fonseca Bin 27

Deep red and opaque; youthfulness just starting to fade. Soft on the nose, which shows some freshly picked blackcurrant. Soft and smooth entry onto the palate but then powerful tannins and sharp fruit take over, combining to give a pretty big flavour profile. The aftertaste and finish are full of dark chocolate and bitter blackcurrant. Very different in style from the Taylor First Estate show alongside. 87/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
