2007 Quinta do Noval LBV (Single Vineyard)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottling date not disclosed. Deep red, mature tone but no bricking. Opaque at the centre with a medium rim. Baked red fruit on the nose with a fresh redcurrant tone. Sweet, elegant and balanced entry that has a nice silky texture. The baked fruit comes through on the mid-palate with the fruit dominating over the fresh acidity. The tannins are faint and slightly green, but not in an unpleasant way. There is a lovely aftertaste and a finish full of fresh spring onions. This is a medium-weight port that is smooth and tasty. 86/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
