NV Quinta do Noval Tawny 40YO (bottled 2013)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2013. Deep amber / Orange in colour; 50% opaque centre. Bananas and dried mango on the very fragrant nose. Concentrated and smooth on entry with sweet soft caramel and powerful bitter orange acidity giving a terrific balance to the wine. A touch of heat on the aftertaste then a massive wave of concentrated bitter orange acidity before a long - infinitely long concentrated bitter-sweet orange marmalade finish. Terrific port. 94/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
