1998 Fonseca Guimaraens Panascal

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Brick red colour with a 90% opaque centre. Smelly on the nose, quite remarkably so. Dry fruit entry with a dry core that has hints of greenness. A powerful acidity cuts through the flavours, which are light on fruit. The finish is peppery and of huge volume with lots of molasses at the end of the finish. 84/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
