1985 Taylor

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature brick red in colour, 80% opaque. A touch of antiseptic on the nose, with lots of rosemary which usually indicates an oxidised wine. Sweet and balanced entry with candied red fruit and jelly bean flavours but balanced by a nice acidity and still with some soft tannins. Mouthfilling and tasty. A chewy licorice finish with great length. A hint of the Taylor power and heat on the inside of the lips on the finish. 91/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
