NV Vieira de Sousa White 10YO (bottled 2012)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2012. Very pale brown colour, 10% opaque. Served chilled, this revealed only a little over-ripe peach on the nose. Smooth entry with a nice thick texture. Honeyed on the mid-palate, sweet and with a nice layering of complexity; slightly under-acidified so the balance is not quite right. The gentle honey comes through on the aftertaste with clover honey dominating the long finish. A lovely glass of port, but one which would not be easy to drink by the bottle. 88/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
