2½ hours after decanting this was the deepest red out of the second flight (1935-1955). Closed on the nose but lots of swirling brings the expected mandarin and some unexpected mintiness. The thick texture filled the mouth but was very hot in the mid-palate. After the heat dies back the fruit comes flooding through as sweet cranberry and has a massive palate presence. The aftertaste is generous in volume and spends some time teasing as it fades in and out of perception. 94/100.

6 hours after decanting this was hotter on the nose than it had been earlier but had more fruit on the palate. Still a huge wine with a super aftertaste. 9/9 or 94/100. Drunk 09-Feb-08.
