1963 Croft

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

3½ hours after decanting this had a light red centre and beautiful clarity. Hot on the nose with juniper berries under the heat, perhaps the nose was a little closed. Sweet into the mouth and with a beautiful structure with bags of morello cherries. Sweet, elegant and lovely. The aftertaste is of subtle redcurrants and lasts a very long time. This particular bottle is probably showing as good or better than any I have had before and has plenty of life left in it yet. 9/9 or 93/100.

8 hours after decanting the wine had improved very slightly with more elegance in the mouth and a larger aftertaste. 94/100. Drunk 09-Feb-08
