Mk48 (though blind), decanted 16:00. Cloudy orange brown, perhaps 30% opaque. Nose tawnified. Palate both acidic, and very sweet, especially mid-palate. Long. Actually, very very long. Self-evidently over-mature, but despite this, delicious.

Because of the clue, mis-guessed to be Andresen 1950.

25% opacity, brown/yellow, tobacco rim, cloudy. Smooth, syrupy and full, gentle heat mid to end, some woody notes. Given various clues including a link to Scotland, I changed my original guess to Mackenzie 1955.

Ullaged to mid-shoulder. Burnt amber in colour, 30% opaque. Slightly oxidised on the nose, not showing much more than some vague toffee and floor polish. Rosemary on the impact, hollow other than some brown sugar sweetness. Oxidised and quite hot, a nice texture but little flavour. Honey and lime finish with a great length, unfortunately bitter and not pleasant. Based on the many clues this was guessed to be Butler Nephew 1954 (served blind). 82/100.
